Check the certifications and labels

Many countries require plastic toys to undergo mandatory product certification, such as the CPC certification in the United States, CE certification in Europe, and CCC certification in China. You need to check if the product has obtained relevant certifications. In addition, you also need to carefully examine labels and user manuals to ensure information about factories, main materials, etc., and avoid using any toxic substances.

Take a sniff

If some toys have a strong smell, it may indicate the presence of volatile harmful substances. It is recommended to wash and air the toys before use in order to reduce the odor as much as possible. If the smell persists even after cleaning, it suggests that the materials used are not up to standard.

Look at the surface glossiness and color vibrancy

High-quality plastic toys are typically made from single materials such as ABS, PP, and PE, which give them a glossy appearance and vibrant colors. In contrast, many inferior toys are made from 'two-materials', referring to recycled and reprocessed materials obtained from discarded plastic products. However, the color of these reprocessed materials tends to deteriorate.

Choose ones with a smooth and complete appearance

It is recommended to carefully inspect for any obvious deformities, ensure a smooth surface, and check for any small parts. For colored toys, you can gently wipe them with a white napkin back and forth to see if there are any signs of fading or color change. Additionally, it's advised to touch the edges and corners of toys to check for sharp objects.
